L. Pneumophila
Rapid CDIATM L. Pneumophila kits are intended for the detection of Legionnaires’ disease by detecting legionella pneumophila serogroup I antigen.
Legionella pneumophila is a thin, aerobic, pleomorphic, flagellated, non-spore forming, Gram-negative bacterium of the genus Legionella. The bacterium Legionella pneumophila is responsible for most cases of Legionnaires’ disease. Outdoors, legionella bacteria survive in soil and water, but rarely cause infection. Indoors, though, legionella bacteria can multiply in all kinds of water systems—hot tubs, air conditioners and mist sprayers in grocery store produce departments.
