Rapid CDIATM Vitamins D kits are intended for the detection of Vitamins D in vitro.
Vitamins D or calciferolii are synthesized by cleavage of pro-B molecule sterol ring during exposure to sunlight. The most important Vitamin D are Vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) and Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol).
25 hydroxyvitamin D, with a prolonged half-life (2-3 weeks) is the main reservoir and best circulating overall indicator of Vitamin D status
More than 95% of 25-OH Vitamin D is represented by the amount of serum 25-OH Vitamin D3; 25-OH vitamin D2 only increases measurablely in serum levels in patients who take medication containing vitamin D2.
