Intended Use

This kit can be used for rapid qualitative analysis of β-lactams and tetracyclines in raw milk samples.

  • Qualitative: β-lactams, 2-80 ppb; Tetracyclines, 4-10 ppb
  • The product shows negative at the level of 500 μg/L of melamine, chloramphenicol, ofloxacin, gentamycin, sulfamethazine etc.

Principle Of The Test

This kit is based on the specific reaction of antibody-antigen and immunochromatography. β-lactams and tetracyclines antibiotics in the sample compete for the antibody with the antigen coated on the membrane of the test strip. Then after a color reaction, the result can be observed.

General Description

The β-lactam class of antibacterials has been a cornerstone of human health for nearly seven decades. Their preeminence in the treatment of bacterial infection is the result of their unparalleled clinical efficacy and clinical safety. The first β-lactam antibiotic discovered—having cytotoxic activity toward bacteria—was a penicillin, and the discovery of a second β-lactam classes, cephalosporins, was in 1945. Tetracyclines were discovered in the 1940s and exhibited activity against a wide range of microorganisms including gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, chlamydiae, mycoplasmas, rickettsiae, and protozoan parasites. They are inexpensive antibiotics, which have been used extensively in the prophlylaxis and therapy of human and animal infections and also at subtherapeutic levels in animal feed as growth promoters.
