This kit is a chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of plague antibody in plasma, or serum. It is intended to be used as a screening test and as an aid in the diagnosis of infection with Yersinia pestis.
CDIATM Test kit for Y. pestis antibody has Test Line and Control Line on the surface of the kit. Y. pestis F1 antigens are immobilized on the test region of the membrane. During testing, the specimen reacts with Y. pestis F1 antigens conjugated to colloidal gold particles and pre-coated onto the conjugate pad of the test. The mixture then migrates through the membrane by capillary action, and interacts with reagents on the membrane. If there are sufficient antibodies to Y. pestis in the specimen, a colored band will form at the test region of the membrane. The presence of this colored band indicates a positive result, while its absence indicates a negative result. The appearance of a colored band at the control region serves as a procedural control, indicating that the proper volume of specimen has been added and membrane wicking has occurred.
Plague bacteria Yersinia pestis (Y. pestis) is that people already known potent pathogenic microorganisms, with easy access, virulent, mortality rate, more resistant to the natural environment characteristics, different gender and people of all ages are susceptible, they have been recognized as a classic of biological warfare agents.
