The CDIATM Testosterone Immunofluorescence Test Cassette (Urine/Tissue/Meat/Feed) is a lateral flow immunoassay for the detection of testosterone in urine, tissue, meat and feed.
The Test is a competitive binding immunoassay in which testosterone in a sample compete with immobilized testosterone conjugate for limited labeled antibody binding sites. When a sufficient amount of specimen is applied to the sample pad of the test device, the specimen migrates through the test device by capillary action. The testosterone in the sample combines with the antibody labeled with the fluorescent microspheres, and inhibits the binding of the antibody and testosterone on the NC membrane test line (T line) , thus resulting in changes in the fluorescence intensity of the T and C line. Read the result by using the fluorescence reader.
Testosterone is the primary male sex hormone and an anabolic steroid. Testosterone is also used as a medication to treat male hypogonadism and certain types of breast cancer. The high content of testosterone is harmful to the body. It may lead to obesity, and high androgen levels are associated with menstrual cycle irregularities in both clinical populations and healthy women.
