Rapid CDIATM Helicobacter pylori kits are intended for the detection of Helicobacter pylori infection by detecting H. pylori antibodies or antigens.
Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) are a bacterium that causes chronic inflammation in the stomach and is a common cause of ulcers worldwide. H. pylori infections are usually harmless, but they’re responsible for the majority of ulcers in the stomach and small intestine. H. pylori causes chronic inflammation (gastritis) by invading the lining of the stomach and producing a cytotoxin termed vacuolating cytotoxin A (Vac-A), and thus can lead to ulcer formation. It is also linked to the development of duodenal ulcers and stomach cancer.
