Impatiens necrotic spot virus (INSV)

Impatiens necrotic spot virus (INSV) is a member of the tospoviruses group and have been widespread and devastating in the greenhouse industry. INSV is naturally transmitted by thrips and most commonly found in many ornamental crops. Typical symptoms of INSV infection are chlorotic or necrotic spot and chlorotic or necrotic ring spot. Growers aggressively attacking the problem can avoid crop losses by carefully inspecting new plants brought into the greenhouse, maintaining the health of plants already in the greenhouse, destroying infected plants and controlling thrips.
