LH (Luteinizing hormone)
Rapid CDIATM kits are intended for predicting ovulation among woman by detecting luteinizing hormone in the urine.
Luteinizing hormone (LH) plays an important role in sexual development of both man and woman and is produced by the pea-sized pituitary gland in the brain. In women, LH helps regulate the menstrual cycle and ovulation. The level of LH in a woman's body varies with the phase of the menstrual cycle. And the LH surge triggers ovulation. In men, LH stimulates the production of testosterone, which plays a role in sperm production. A LH test may be done to help find the cause for a couple's infertility. LH testing is commonly used to help evaluate a woman's egg supply or a man's sperm count.
