Spiramycin (SPM, Rovamycine) is a macrolide antibiotic and antiparasitic. It is mainly used for anti-bacterial and animal infection with chlamydia, can also be used as feed additives to promote weight gain and improved feed conversion rate. Animals after long-term use, metabolites accumulate in animal tissues and equipment or storage, up to a certain concentration can cause animals vestibular and cochlear nerve damage, cause dizziness and hearing loss, severe cases will cause liver and kidney damage. Spiramycin can enter the body through the food chain. It will cause serious harm to human health. Codex Alimentarius Commission, the European Union and Japan are prescribed maximum residue limit the amount of the drug is 200μg/L.
